Mastering the Graduate Record Examination (GRE): Format, Sections, and Preparation Tips
The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) was developed by the United States Educational Testing Service. GRE was designed to administrate students who apply for Postgraduate and professional school of doctorate Programs.
Graduate Record Examination Format
Students can take GRE in standardized forms; computer and paper-based. GRE test assesses student Verbal, Quantitative, and Analytic aptitudes.Â
The GRE is about 3 hours and 45 minutes long. GRE each section is divided into two parts except Analytic Writing. And in the end, an additional experimental section also has to perform.
GRE Quantitative Reasoning (QR)
There are two parts of GRE Quantitative Reasoning. Each part consists of Quantitative computation, Math problem-solving items, and Data Interpretation questions.Â
Math questions general drive from Advanced Mathematical concepts and their application to solving real-world problems. Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, and Data Analysis are the basic content of the Quantitative reasoning section. GRE quantitative Reasoning is consisting of 20 multiple correct responses questioned to be completed in 35 minutes.
GRE Analysis Writing
The Analytical Writing section assesses the student’s capability of composing complex ideas with relevant reasons and examples to support his comprehensive writing.
GRE Verbal Reasoning
GRE forces on complex Verbal reasoning skills and measure student ability to achieve conclusion from multiple context passages. Students have to answer multiple-choice questions driven from passages.
