Preparing for Success with the Postsecondary Education Readiness Test (PERT): Format, Content, and Practice

The Postsecondary Education Readiness Test (PERT) is Florida’s customized common placement test. The PERT test is given to public high school students to determine their readiness for College. Florida’s colleges also use PERT scores to place students in appropriate courses.

PERT Format

PERT was designed to test the core competencies of students that are required for college admission. There are 30 questions for each section of the PRET test. PERT each section 25 questions are in multiple-choice format and the rest of the fives are field study questions. It is an untimed test. But mostly the student completes it in 3 hours.

PERT Test

PERT test has replaced the Accuplacer as the standard placement test used throughout the state of Florida and has three sections: Math, Reading, and Writing.

PERT Math Section

PERT Math section determined student aptitude toward college-level mathematical courses. Most of the PERT math tests is consist of Algebraic Equation, Geometry, and Trigonometry assessment questions.

PERT Reading Section

The reading section assesses the critical reading skills of students to find facts and figures in the passages and answer the given questions.

PERT Writing Section

Questions of the PERT writing section focus on grammar, sentence formation ability, and also assess cohesive writing capability.

PERT Practice Tests

PERT Practice tests help you in understanding the type of questions inquired on the actual test. They also improve Your Problem-Solving Abilities and evaluate the areas that you need help on. Practice test helps a lot to do well on the PERT exam, especially the math section.
